What personal information Home Extensions Nottingham collects through this website, why we collect it and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

This website, homeextensionsnottingham.co.uk, is run by Home Extensions Nottingham. We design and build house extensions and loft conversions in Nottingham and the surrounding towns. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described here.

Our address is Unit 4B, Oldknows Factory, St Ann's Hill Rd, Nottingham NG3 4GQ, United Kingdom. You can reach us about anything in this policy by phone on 0115 990 2782, by email at info@homeextensionsnottingham.co.uk or through the contact page.

What we collect

We collect only what you choose to send us through a quote form, a contact form or the review form:

  • your name
  • your phone number and email address
  • your postcode
  • the type of project and anything you write in the message box

When a form is sent, the website also records the page it was sent from and the time. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and fault finding.

We do not ask for payment details on this website and we do not collect any special category data such as health information. If you include that kind of detail in a message, for example because you need an accessible ground floor bedroom, we use it only to understand the project.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

PurposeLawful basis
Replying to your enquiry, arranging a survey and preparing a quoteSteps taken at your request before entering into a contract
Carrying out building work you have instructed and keeping records of itPerformance of a contract, and legal obligations such as tax and building control records
Checking and publishing a review you have sent usYour consent, which you can withdraw at any time
Keeping the website secure and stopping spam form entriesOur legitimate interest in running a safe website

We do not use your details for automated decision making and we do not sell them to anyone.

Who we share it with

Enquiries are stored on our website hosting account and sent to our business email inbox, so our hosting and email providers process the data on our behalf. If you go ahead with a project we may need to pass relevant details to people involved in the job, such as a structural engineer, an architect, building control or the local planning authority. We only share what each of them needs.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within 12 months.
  • Records for completed projects are kept for at least six years after the work ends, because of tax rules and the period in which a claim could be made, and for as long as any guarantee we have given you remains in force.
  • A published review stays on the site until you ask us to take it down.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete your information, where we have no legal reason to keep it
  • stop or limit how we use it
  • send your information to you or another organisation in a common format

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to sort it out. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
